Allow your horse to live on through education by donating equine limbs
As a farrier, I have a deep focus on continuing education and sharing that expanded knowledge with the equine community. While this is a difficult topic for many to discuss, it is a crucial part of helping horses and improving how our industry understands them.
Dissections and preservation of cadaver limbs are an incredible way to better educate and understand our horses. Fully understanding the anatomy and intricacies of the equine distal limb from the inside out impacts how professionals in our industry approach trimming, shoeing, maintenance, and rehab cases, as well as broadening the ways we can learn.
There is vital information the internal anatomy and pathology of a hoof can tell us that the horse cannot when they’re with us.
If you know of a horse scheduled for euthanasia or that passed suddenly, please call or text me. Your willingness to donate limbs can allow them to continue on educating the equine community for years to come and save future horses.
